Dancing Hawk Guide Service:

Goat Island Lighthouse. The Goat Island Lighthouse was built to light the channel into Cape Porpoise Harbor in 1834. Interesting place to see from Cape Porpoise.

The Nott House:
8 Maine Street, Kennebunkport. A classic 1853 Greek Revival house with elegant Victorian furnishings. Mid-June to mid-October, Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Adults $5.00, Children under 18 free. Group tours are encouraged and are available upon request.

Guided tours leave the Nott House Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.

Guide books for self-guided walking tours are available.

Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge:
Wells (207) 646-9226. A part of the National Wildlife refuge system, the refuge protects more than 5,000 acres of wildlife habitat. A 1-mile, self-guided, accessible nature trail at their headquarters winds through pines to a coastal marsh.

Rockin Horse Stables:

Schoonersails:

Strawbery Banke:

A non-profit organization dedicated to teaching about the changes in history, lifestyle, and architecture in one waterfront neighborhood over the course of 300 years. The museum is located on Marcy and Hancock Streets and is open May 1 - Oct. 31 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and Nov. 1 - April Thursdays - Sundays for 90-minute walking tours. Tom's of Maine:
Kennebunk (207) 985-2944. Tours Mid-June through Labor Day, Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., or Labor Day-Mid-June, Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. No tours will be offered the week of July 4. Not recommended for children under 5. Tour is accessed by a flight of stairs. A video tour is also available.

Victoria Mansion:
109 Danforth Street, Portland (207) 772-4841. Among the outstanding examples of Victorian architecture in the nation. The interior features an ornate drawing room, Gothic library, and "Turkish" smoking room. Open May - October, Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays during Christmas. Open Nov. 23 - Dec. 30 for "Christmas at the Victoria Mansion". Gift shop on the premises.

Walking in the Port:

Tours originate at the Nott House, Maine Street, on Thursdays, June 21 - Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m., weather permitting. Cost is $3.00 per person. Call for more information.

Webhannet Golf Course:
Kennebunk Beach (207) 967-2061. One tee time per hour, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., greens fees $40, cart rental $12 pp, reserve 24 hours in advance.

Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve:
Wells (207) 646-1555. www.wellsreserve.org Located at Laudholm Farm, Laudholm Farm Road. The centerpiece is a historic saltwater farm on 1,600 acres along coastal barrier beaches, marsh and upland. Seven miles of trails for recreational hiking. Visitor center, guided tours, large parking lot. Trails open daily 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. year round. May 15 - Sept. 15, trails are open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Visitors' Center open Mon. - Sat. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sun. noon - 4 p.m. Parking fee daily July and August and weekends June and September.
